Danger zone
Wipe all transactions, accounts, imports and archived documents for a clean
re-import. Your category rules are kept; manual categorizations are lost. A backup snapshot
is written first. (CLI: bank reset --yes)
The Swiss consumer price index (LIK), published by the Federal Statistical Office — the official measure of how much prices rose. The app keeps the last 36 months of it in the local database and puts it to exactly one use: judging the interest you were paid against what those francs still buy.
- Real interest rate
- Every interest credit in your transaction list carries a % badge next to the amount. Open it and it reads: the nominal rate the bank paid, the inflation of that month, and the real rate left over — plus, in francs, what inflation cost the balance while the interest accrued. A nominal 1.2% against 1.6% inflation is a loss, and the badge says so.
- Inflation on its own
- When the account's balance is unknown there is no honest rate to derive, so the badge falls back to showing that month's inflation and explains why it stops there.
- Not used for anything else
- Budgets, category totals and the household comparison figures do not read this file — the comparison figures already ship price-adjusted. Without it the app behaves exactly as it does now, minus the badge.
